Genesis of IMPACT and Shivananda Impact Pediatric Cancer Centre(SIPCC)

IMPACT was formed in 2008 as a non-governmental organization to improve access to quality cancer care and treatment for children with cancer. IMPACT worked exclusively with the pediatric cancer center at MNJInstitute of Oncology and Regional Cancer Center, Hyderabad. IMPACT started the Pediatric Cancer Unit at MNJ as a 10 bed center and has helped it grow to a 100 bed unit today (with 2 general wards, a day care center and an ICU). With the support of IMPACT, the treatment abandonment rate has dropped to 10% and cure rates increased from 15% to 40%.

With the intention of offering complete ‘beginning to end’ care and treatment, Impact has now moved to its own new premises at “Shivananda-IMPACT Pediatric Cancer Center”.

Under the able guidance of our specialized oncology team led by Dr. Sudha Sinha, IMPACT aims to achieve cure rates on par with developed countries, upto 80%.
